What an hour actually does
Nobody improves by being told to read more. You improve by running it, losing, and having someone show you the twelve seconds that cost you the ballot.
Ballots, read properly
Bring your last ballot. We go through what the judge actually wrote rather than what you assume they meant. This is where most of the improvement lives, and almost nobody does it.
Drilling under pressure
Rebuttal redos, crossfire, framework clash. Short repetitions against someone trying to beat you rather than agree with you. Timed, repeated, uncomfortable.
The case you run Saturday
Not a generic curriculum. Cards cut for your topic, blocks for what you will actually hit, and second-line answers written before you need them.
Out of the heart of the Bay Area
Söz came out of the California circuit — the one where rounds move fast, judges write paradigms longer than the cases, and nobody is impressed by a nice voice. That is the standard the coaching is built against.
It also means our coaches are still in it. They judged last weekend, they know which arguments are landing this month, and they know what the pool in front of you actually rewards. Every session runs on Google Meet, so where you live has never mattered — but where the coaching came from does.
